Our Story

Why We Turned Off the Timer

The moment we decided healthcare should be human again.

It Started With a Broken System

Dr. Abi Mitchell didn't set out to start a revolution. She just wanted to practice medicine the way she imagined it should be: with time, attention, and genuine care.

But after years in traditional chiropractic clinics, she kept hitting the same wall — the 10-minute appointment. The rushed conversation. The treatment plans created before really understanding the patient.

"I kept thinking, 'How can I truly help someone if I'm watching the clock? If I'm following a script instead of listening to their story?'"

"The system was broken. Patients weren't getting better because we weren't really seeing them. We were seeing symptoms, conditions, insurance codes — but not people."

— Dr. Abi Mitchell, Founder

The Moment Everything Changed

We turned off the timer — and never looked back.

An ordinary Tuesday. A radical choice.

The Day We Turned Off the Timer

It happened on an ordinary Tuesday. Dr. Mitchell was with a patient who had been dealing with chronic back pain for years. Ten minutes wasn't enough. Twenty minutes wasn't enough.

So she did something radical: she kept listening. For 45 minutes, she learned about this person's life — their job, their fears, their hopes, what they missed doing because of the pain.

And something remarkable happened. Not only did she understand the root cause of the pain (it wasn't what anyone had thought), but the patient left feeling heard for the first time in years.

"That's when I knew. The timer was the enemy of healing. It had to go."

The Human-First Philosophy

Three principles that guide everything we do

01
Listen First

Before we touch, before we treat, before we plan — we listen. Your story matters. You're not a chart or a condition; you're a person with a life, and we need to understand it to help you heal.

  • No rushed conversations
  • No interrupting
  • No assumptions
02
ClearPath Planning

No mysteries. No vague timelines. We create a clear, understandable plan together. You know what to expect, when to expect it, and how we'll measure success.

  • Transparent treatment plans
  • Realistic timelines
  • Measurable goals
03
Visit-3 Check

By your third visit, we check in. Is this working? Are you improving? Do we need to adjust? Your feedback shapes your care. If something isn't helping, we change it.

  • Regular progress reviews
  • Flexible adjustments
  • Your voice matters

Dr. Abi Mitchell, D.C.

Founder & Lead Chiropractor

Dr. Mitchell founded Prime Spine & Wellness with a simple but radical idea: healthcare should start with listening. After earning her Doctor of Chiropractic degree and spending years in traditional practice, she knew there had to be a better way.

Today, she leads a team united by the Human-First philosophy. When she's not in the clinic, she's advocating for patient-centered care, mentoring new chiropractors, and spending time with her family in Fort Worth.

What We Believe

The convictions that shape every decision we make

Outcomes Over Volume
We measure success by how well you feel, not by how many patients we see. If that means spending extra time with you, we do it.
Root Causes Over Symptoms
We don't just treat pain; we find out why it's happening. True healing addresses the source, not just the surface.
Partnership Over Dictation
You're the expert on your body. We're the experts on chiropractic care. Together, we create the path forward.
Education Over Mystery
We explain what we're doing and why. Understanding your care empowers you to participate in your healing.
Compassion Over Scripts
Every person is unique. Your care should be too. No cookie-cutter treatments. No one-size-fits-all plans.
Excellence Over Expedience
We take the time to do things right. Rushed care isn't good care. Period.

"I had been to three other chiropractors before finding Prime Spine. The difference was immediate — not just in how I felt physically, but in how I was treated. For the first time, a doctor actually listened to me. That made all the difference."
